(Supporting Overall Immunity3, Ingredients from IFF)
Bifidobacterium adolescentis AGE17, isolated from healthy child's feces, promotes skeletal muscle mitochondrial function via niacin production, with demonstrated increases in muscle thickness, bone development, and physical strength — targeting the high-growth global sports nutrition and youth development market.
Safety & Gastrointestinal Tolerance
Verified Safety: Whole-genome analysis confirms the complete absence of virulence factors. The strain exhibits no resistance to multiple antibiotics and has demonstrated an excellent safety profile in acute toxicity animal studies.
High Intestinal Viability: AGE17 possesses robust resistance to gastric acid and bile salts, ensuring high survival rates during gastrointestinal transit and enabling high viability upon reaching the intestinal tract.
Growth-Promoting Efficacy (Validated by Multiple Models)
Both live cells and inactivated fermentation broth of AGE17 have demonstrated significant potential in promoting muscle growth and skeletal development across multiple experimental models:
C. elegans Model: Supplementation with AGE17 significantly increased the body length (by over 10% compared to control groups) and enhanced the thickness of the body wall muscle layer, with clearer bundle structures of muscle fibers observed.

Murine (Mouse) Model: AGE17 intervention promoted the development of muscle groups such as the tibialis anterior and quadriceps. Compared to the blank group, the AGE17 group showed a 17.51% increase in grip strength and a significantly prolonged retention time in rotarod tests. Additionally, it significantly promoted skeletal linear growth, increasing femur and tibia length.

Mechanistic Insights: AGE17 systematically promotes skeletal growth and density by enhancing growth hormone secretion, calcium metabolism, and osteoblast activity. In murine studies, it increased Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) levels by over 20%, bone mineral density by 12.4%, and serum calcium and osteocalcin content by 53.9% and 17.9%, respectively.
